Breast Carcinoma of Korean Viewed on the Basis of WHO¢¥s Classification

Abstract
|
|
|
The authors have reviewed the 61 cases of breast carcinoma which were studied grossly and microscopically during the last 6 years from 1962 to 1968 and were kept in the. slide file. They .classified t e cases according to WHO¢¥s¢¥ histological typing of breast tumours and obtained the following results.
1. The 61 cases of the breast carcinoma consisted of 41 infiltrating carcinomas, 9 medullary carcinomas, 4 cribriform carcinomas, 3 intraduct and intralobular non-infiltrating carcinomas, 2 lobular carcinomas and 2 squamous cell carcinomas; There of the 61 cases were male breast carcinomas and all of these belonged to the category of infiltrating carcinoma.
2. The malignancy of the 41 cases of infiltrating carcinoma were graded after the WHO¢¥s classification. Of these 41 cases 26 showed grade III, 11 grade II and 4 grade I.
3. The male to female sex ratio in Korean was about 1:20, and the tumours were found most frequent in the decades from 4th to 6th. The peak of age incidence in female was 46.4, whereas that in male 56.0.
